chicago, illinois / weather forecast poem

photo: unsplash

chicago, illinois / 37℉ - mostly cloudy

the gray lake

unbuttons

her cardigan of ice

a little more every day.

white buttons of temporary tundra

popping and cracking,

undressing under

the gaze of spring.

This poem is part of the A to Z blog challenge. Every day (except Sunday) I'll post a new weather forecast poem. Have a suggestion for a city? Contact me with a suggestion, and it might make the list.
