The Hair Diaries: Irresistible Me
For years I had the same hair routine...slightly above ear length, side part, a generous amount of hair gel. Snooze. So I let my hair go natural and allowed it to grow. And even though my hair is well below shoulder length now, with my super curly hair it often shrinks to look as if it's ear length. Which means...slightly below ear length, side part, a generous amount of hair gel. Longer, but still boring. So when Irresistible Me asked me to review their line of hair accessories, I jumped at the opportunity.
I chose the Aurora tiara, the Celine headband, and the Trinity hair combs. And then I played dress up...
The Aurora tiara is the life of the party. And the after party. And dancing until dawn. Glittering with crystals, but in no way over the top. Is it strange to call a tiara demure? But I will 100% wear this as a Saturday morning run-around headband. With sunglasses, a sweater, and a scarf, this tiara is the feminine version of a bow tie with jeans: put together, but not at all stuffy. Is it wrong to say I'm looking forward to a hangover so I can wear this? Side note: if your hair is super thick like mine, be very gentle as you remove the tiara combs from your hair. My hair loves accessories so much, it wants to keep them tangled and close. Remove the tiara slowly and steadily, and you'll stay tangle free.
Ok. Truth time. I haven't taken the Celine headband off yet. Today, I've worn the headband two different ways: this morning at a Wordpress meeting, I wore it low on my hairline as sort of a Wonder Woman like headpiece. And now after I've come home, I'm wearing it further back on my head as a traditional headband, with a slicked-back bun.
It's funny, I thought the tiara would be a special occasion piece, but I think the Trinity hair combs will be that little something special I'll add to my event wardrobes. The two combs each have small crosses at the top and are connected by three chains. The effect is stunning. I'll wear them when I want a priestess/empress/goddess vibe. I'm thinking maxi dresses and big hair. My hair covered the crosses, so I lost the visual spiritual connection of the combs. For me, that was actually a plus, as I don't really wear my spirituality on my sleeve (or on my head). No disrespect to those who do!
In an effort to take better care of myself, I've decided to hit the 'refresh' button on certain areas of my life. Along the way, I’ll share cool tips I've learned and some product reviews. FYI: I received free samples for this review, but my opinion (words and photos) are my own.
