your life is poetry

darling, never forget your life is poetry

The feeling you have when the alarm clock goes off in the morning? That's a poem about beginnings.

The fumbling and stumbling as you blink your eyes, but just before you are fully awake? It's a foggy, dreamy and wispy haiku.

The breakfast you ate? Or, didn't eat? Actually, that's a rhyming couplet poem about satisfaction.

Your morning commute...whether it's 5 feet to a desk, 10 feet to your child's room, or 15 miles to your desk? It's actually a narrative poem about dedication.

The feeling you get at 3 o'clock in the afternoon? You know, the one where you look at the clock and suddenly notice the time? I hate to be the one to tell you, but that feeling? It's a dramatic poem about exasperation and frustration.

Then when you return home...and you see the reason for all that you do. Your dog, your child, your sweetheart, a home of your own, or hell, even your gaming system. All of that emotion, swirling in your heart? That's a lyrical, romantically swoon-worthy sonnet.

And just so you know...when you get down and dirty with that sweetheart...that physical, primal feeling is what inspires the cleverest and filthiest of limericks.

Someday (and I hope that day is very, very far away), when your time on this Earth and in our Galaxy is over, and when you leave your vessel which some would call a body, but you called home...I hope you look back at your life and realize you are a stunningly, perfectly, and gorgeously epic poem.
